Abstract

This research is entitled "Character and Characterization of Enola Holmes in Enola Holmes Film". This study aims to determine the character and characterization of Enola as well as his social status and relationships. The data was obtained by using the note taking method. The object of this research focuses on the character of Enola Holmes. The research data is obtained from dialogue, narration and several scenes in the film "Enola Holmes". This study uses the character theory of Altenberg and Lewis (1966) which identifies characters in 2 ways. The results of this study show what are the characters in Enola and how the author describes Enola in the film as well as the status and social relationships of Enola. Based on observations, Enola is included in 2 types of characters. The characterizations used by the author to describe Enola are direct and indirect. Enola is a society that has an upper middle social class, which is included in the people who are quite influential in their time. Meanwhile, Enola's social relationship with her surroundings was established because of the long relationship they had together.
