Abstract
This research entitled “The Moral Values Found In The Song Lyrics "happy" by Skinnyfabs". The purpose of this research is to find the type of contextual meaning and moral value in the song. This study applied qualitative methods and the data were analyzed descriptively. The data are classified based on the theory of contextual meaning by Lyons (1977). there are types of contextual meaning and moral value, namely: Context of Person, Context of Place, Context of Time, Context of Formality, Context of Mood, Context of Subject-matter, Moral Value of being Honesty, Moral value of being Courage and Moral Value of being Peace Ability. The results of this study indicate that there are 45 contextual meanings in the lyrics of the song Skinnyfabs. After the analysis was carried out, the biggest context is 24 Context of Mood (55.3%) and the smallest context is context of formality 1 (0.5%). The biggest moral value is 6 Moral Value of being Honesty (42.8%), the smallest moral value is 3 Moral Value of being Peace Ability (21.4%). The result of the research also shows that Context of Mood and Moral Value of being Honesty are the dominant types of contextual meaning and moral value and all types of contextual meaning and moral value can be found in song lyrics.
