STKIP PGRI SIDOARJO. Advisors: 1). Dr. Sulistyaningsih, M.Pd 2). Dina Merris M., M.Pd Key Words: Reading Ability, Narrative Text, Crossword Puzzle Game To solve reading problems, the teachers are obligated to choose the suitable approach, strategy, method in order to achieve the teaching purposes easily, and the media will make the students to be more motivated to study. Crossword puzzle game can be an option game to lead them to be more active. The students can take pleasure in learning by using crossword puzzle game. This research is to describe teaching reading by using crossword puzzle game and to describe the students’ responses after using crossword puzzle game. This research was a descriptive study using a qualitative approach for using qualitative data. The researcher used three instruments in this research they were Observation Checklist, Observation Field note and Questionnaire. The findings of this research was that crossword puzzle game in reading narrative text made students enthusiastic to comprehend English text and it made students easy to do their tasks. Therefore, it can be concluded that crossword puzzle game motivated the students towards reading narrative text.
